1 What rubber compound should I specify for a hydraulic system gasket?

NBR (nitrile rubber) is the standard compound for hydraulic gaskets — it offers excellent resistance to petroleum-based hydraulic oils across the temperature range −30°C to +100°C. For synthetic hydraulic fluids, FKM or EPDM may be more appropriate depending on the specific fluid chemistry. Always provide the hydraulic fluid specification when requesting a quote so our engineers can confirm the correct compound.

2 Can you supply anti-vibration mounts for a specific machine frequency?

Yes. Anti-vibration mount specification requires knowing the machine's operating speed (RPM), the weight it carries (static load per mount), and the target isolation efficiency. From these, our engineers calculate the required natural frequency of the mount system and specify the rubber compound hardness and geometry. Please provide the machine RPM, mass, and number of mounting points when requesting a quote.

3 What are rubber screen balls and how do they work?

Rubber screen balls are solid rubber spheres used in vibrating screening machines in aggregate processing, recycling, and industrial material sorting. The balls sit in pockets below the screen mesh and bounce against it during operation. This impact dislodges particles that block the mesh apertures, maintaining screening efficiency. Available in various diameters to match the screen mesh and pocket dimensions.

4 Do you produce rubber bellows for machine tool applications?

Yes. URM produces protective rubber bellows for machine tool ways, ball screw protection, actuator rod covers, and spindle boots. NBR is specified for coolant-exposed positions; neoprene where both coolant and oil splash is present. Custom geometries produced from your machine drawings.

5 What are maintenance rubber plugs used for?

Maintenance rubber plugs are tapered or parallel rubber plugs used to blank off pipe openings, tank nozzles, and vessel connections during maintenance, inspection, or commissioning. They provide a quick, secure seal without tools — inserted into the pipe bore and expanded by tightening a central bolt. Available in a wide range of diameters to suit standard pipe sizes.

6 Do you offer polyurethane (PU) components for high-abrasion applications?

Yes. URM produces polyurethane parts for applications where abrasion resistance exceeds what standard rubber compounds can deliver — conveyor scrapers, wear liners, guide rollers, and impact protection.
