Precision-engineered rubber extrusion profiles and elastomer profiles for sealing, protection and structural applications. Bespoke cross-sections, any compound, any volume. 100% rubber, not plastic.
Rubber extrusions, also known as rubber profiles or elastomer profiles, are continuous lengths of rubber with a consistent cross-sectional shape, produced by forcing a rubber compound through a shaped die. The resulting profile can be cut to any length, joined into frames, or supplied on a reel.
Unlike moulded parts, extrusions are ideal when you need a continuous sealing element: door frames, window gaskets, edge protectors, drainage channels, or any application requiring a uniform profile over long runs. Note: URM produces rubber and elastomer extrusions exclusively, not plastic extrusions.
At URM, we produce both standard profiles (U-channels, D-seals, P-seals, cord, sponge strip) and fully bespoke rubber profiles developed from your drawings or 3D data. As an ISO 9001 certified rubber extrusions supplier, we select the optimal compound and vulcanisation method based on your performance requirements, temperature, chemical exposure, UV resistance, compression set, food grade compliance, and more.
Design & Engineering
Send us your drawing, sketch, or sample. Our engineers verify the cross-section for extrudability and optimise the die geometry.
Compound Selection
We select the right rubber compound based on your application temperature range, chemical exposure, food compliance, and more.
Tooling & Die Production
A precision steel die is machined to your cross-section.
Dies are held on file for repeat orders.
Extrusion & Vulcanisation
The rubber compound is extruded through the die, then cured via steam, salt bath, or hot air microwave vulcanisation to achieve the required mechanical properties.
Quality Control & Delivery
Dimensional checks, hardness testing, and visual inspection before dispatch. Profiles are cut to length or supplied on reels according to your requirements.

P-seal profiles with a hollow bulb section designed for controlled compression. Available with or without a mounting foot. Widely used in automotive and construction.
Angle extrusions providing edge protection and mechanical reinforcement. Available in EPDM solid and sponge rubber. High tear and crack resistance.
Hollow and solid silicone profiles including silicone D-seals, silicone U-channels, and silicone cord. Silicone profiles are available in standard and custom cross-sections, in a wide range of colours, and in FDA-compliant food grade grades.
Specifically designed to secure glass to metal frames. Hermetic sealing with excellent resistance to UV, ozone, vibration, and compression set. Primarily EPDM.
Precision-extruded profiles joined into rectangular or complex frames. Ideal where adhesive bonding is not viable. Produced to customer drawings.
EPDM extrusion seals for shipping container doors. Designed for harsh logistics environments, UV resistance, weatherproofing, and long service life for container refurbishment.
Material selection is critical. Our engineering team specifies the correct compound based on your application, from outdoor weathering seals to chemical-resistant industrial profiles. All materials are sourced and processed under our ISO 9001 quality management system, with full material traceability. Food grade and FDA-compliant compounds are available.

* Food grade rubber extrusions are available in silicone and other FDA-compliant elastomers. Please specify food or pharmaceutical compliance when requesting a quote.
The vulcanisation method determines the final mechanical properties of the rubber profile. URM selects the optimal curing process based on the compound, cross-section geometry, and performance requirements.
The extruded profile is cured in a pressurised steam autoclave. Produces excellent surface quality and uniform cross-section properties. Suited to most general-purpose EPDM and NBR profiles.
The profile is passed through a bath of molten salt at high temperature. Enables continuous production of profiles with high dimensional stability. Preferred for sponge and hollow sections.
Rapid, energy-efficient curing using microwave energy combined with hot air convection. Ideal for silicone profiles and compounds sensitive to salt contamination.
Precision rubber parts for door gripping profiles, boot seals, coolant and hydrogen hoses, vibration dampers, and thermal and acoustic insulation in passenger vehicles and electric buses.
Chemical-resistant FKM, NBR, and silicone components for process pipework, tank sealing, and equipment protection in aggressive fluid environments.
Sealing and protection solutions for glazing, curtain walls, expansion joints, and door and window systems in residential and commercial buildings.
FDA-compliant rubber and silicone profiles, gaskets, and hoses for hygienic sealing in food processing lines and pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment.
